We were on the train home early in the morning. Once again the sky was a gorgeous shade of blue, and I watched the country side go by, longing to stay behind.
There was no stress in making it to the Beijing South train station from Beijing West during our layover this time. We had a four hour wait before our train to Jinan. I was flipping through the guide book on our way back to figure out what we could fit in, but when we stepped out onto the platform I realized that all plans were off.
The subway was jam packed with people, and as I fought through the crowd (realizing that any line up would be far to long to make it through in a day) all I wanted to do was get back home to Jinan as quickly as possible.
