Cleaned, washed laundry, made pancakes, then met up with Katrina to go see “The Desolation of Smaug” in I-max 3D. We’d gotten the movie times wrong, and ended up with two hours to kill. We went across the street, following a sign that claimed to have home brewed Chinese beer. It was supposed to be a South American barbeque place. I think they confused “South America” with Texis, because everyone was wearing cowboy hats.
20 RMB bought a 1 litre pitcher. The dark was both bitter and watery at the same time, the light had an odd flavour that just didn’t quite fit. Nate labeled it as a blond. It was far from good beer, but still we were feeling quite happy by the time the movie began. We went to English Corner, a small bar that foreigners flock to, afterwards for a few drinks. No one else was really there, but we had a good time.
